Mentorship—
When I began my career, I truly valued candid conversations about this industry I decided to dedicate my career to. Sure, learning skills and new tools were nice… but I really valued the insights of a person I respected. I valued the feedback loops, the growth opportunities, and career guidance. I also knew that the time they offered was an investment in me — and I didn’t want to waste that.
I believe mentorship is a form of service to give back and shape the future of design thinkers. As such, I do not charge for my time, but I do choose my mentees very carefully. I want to elevate and empower those that don’t have the privilege, access, or opportunity to get the help they deserve.
My mentees get access to my knowledge, experience, and my network. In return, I get new perspectives and a chance to grow as a leader. An occasional free cup coffee aint bad either.
